Practicing Connection

Two weeks ago, I had my most fun work day ever! 

I got to spend two hours outdoors, on a picnic blanket, in the sunshine, with a sweet 7 year old little girl who can (in her words) See Spirits!  

This little girl's grandma is one of my good friends and the two of us have been doing energy work together every two weeks for many years. I have also done energy work with her Mom and Dad… so the whole family knows my brand of healing magic. 

I received a text message from this sweet girl’s Dad, asking if I would be willing to have a session with her. She had come home from school very upset because a peer in her class had teased her when she spoke of the Spirits that she could see. 

She was peppering her Mom and Dad with questions that they did not have answers for… but they had a feeling that I may! 

As we settled onto the blanket in her backyard, she began to rifle through her purse until she pulled out a little red heart. ♥️ (see picture above) 

“This is for you” she said “I knew it had to be yours!” ♥️ 

“Thank you” I replied “I knew that these were for you!” I handed her two gemstones, a purple amethyst… to help her connect with spirit, and a black onyx… to help ground her energy into the earth. 💜🖤 

We were both delighted with our gifts and it gave me the opportunity to explain to her that my Dad, who is now spirit, sends me hearts all of the time. I receive them as gifts more often than seems possible, find heart rocks, see heart clouds… when a heart appears I know my Dad is interacting with me. They are his cell phone ring and a sign for me to pay close attention and be very present in the moment. 

It was a perfect start to our energy session!  

We then wandered around her backyard and discussed all of the fairies 🧚🏽‍♀️ that we could see and what plants they were energetically attached to. 

This little girl was a breath of fresh air… I did not have to choose my words carefully or downplay the energetic things I could see or try to not be TOO weird.  

She had zero judgement and was solely interested in learning about this strange realm that she could see and feel. 

I just let her ask question after question… 

“Why can we see them and nobody else can?” 

“Because we believe and expect to see them… everyone else can as well, it is just practice and a shift in belief.” 

“How can I get the Spirits to stop bugging me during math class?” 

“Is math your least favourite class in school?” 

”Yes!” 

“And are the Spirits so much more interesting than your teacher?” 

“Yes! They are so funny and they make me laugh and then I get into trouble for not paying attention!”  

“That used to happen to me in school as well! You can simply ask them not to bug you and then ask for a spirit who is very good in math to hang out with you in your energy bubble and help you understand numbers in a fun way… pretty soon math will feel much easier.” 

She asked the best questions! I taught her how to fortify the energy bubble around her body, we practiced feeling the energy of the crystals I had given her, we talked about who some of her spirits were and I introduced her to her dragon… the afternoon was pure childlike magic and the time for me to leave came all too soon. 

As I was leaving, this sweet little one began explaining, to her Mom, the magic homework that I had assigned her. 

“I am supposed to sit quietly once a day and feel the energy of something… a crystal, a tree, a person, a flower… anything Mom… because everything has energy!” 

I knew our afternoon had been a resounding success when she handed her Mom a crystal and asked her to close her eyes and feel its frequency. When her Mom expressed that it was hard for her to do so… this sweet child said “Not with your head Mom… feel it with your heart!” 

She completely understood the most important thing that she would ever need to navigate this life full of strange magic and delightful fun! 

This little girl reminded me of everything that is right in this world, a glimmer of magic that will not go unseen! 

We all have the ability to connect with spirit, to be guided and cherished and to see the magic of life around us… it is just practice and a willingness to play, while we shift a few beliefs!
